Coast to Coast

Two coastlines. Two moods. The full sweep of the Swahili coast.

Two coastlines. Two moods. The full sweep of the Swahili coast. Diani and the north coast are different places with different personalities — and experiencing both in the same journey is what makes this itinerary more than the sum of its parts. Diani is the classic Kenya beach: wide, white, warm, with the coral reef just offshore.

The north coast — Mombasa Old Town, Watamu's sea turtles, Kilifi Creek — is quieter, more culturally textured, with a slower pace that feels like a conscious gear change. Six days. Cross the Likoni Ferry. See Fort Jesus. Snorkel at Kisite. Sail on Kilifi Creek. Eat fresh crab on the waterfront. This is the Swahili coast as it should be experienced.

Itinerary

Swimming, snorkelling on the reef, dhow sailing at sunset. Optional Kisite Marine Park.

Full day on the quieter coast. Sea turtles, Arabuko-Sokoke walk, or Kilifi Creek dhow sailing.
